Artist Member Spotlight:
"Liz Carras has a passion for communicating and collaborating through music. She grew up in Pittsburgh, PA, surrounded by music from a young age. She learned to sing and play various instruments, and quickly found that she had an interest in writing her own music.
After graduating with a Bachelor of Music in Music Therapy from Elizabethtown College, Liz interned at the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh and the Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic, where she developed her passion for helping others tell their stories through music. Now a board-certified music therapist, Liz moved to the Mansfield area in January of 2015 to work with Arts For All - founded by member artist Julie Schlosser - and continues to use her musical skills to help individuals of all ages and abilities meet various needs through active participation in music making.
Liz has also been busy as a singer-songwriter for the duo The Statewide Standoff and working as a freelance composer. Check out Liz's songs here. Here is the link to one of her songs that she is especially proud to share.
She has completed several choral compositions, written music for short student films, and co-authored a two-act musical. She also enjoys singing - previously with the Bach Choir of Pittsburgh and currently with the Mansfield University Festival Chorus - and leading worship at area churches and christian camps. While she loves creating music, her favorite thing to do is collaborate with other artists; whether embellishing another musician’s composition, working to create musical scores to films or plays, or complementing poetry or visual art through music, Liz thrives on artistic collaboration and cooperation. This is what drew her to the Endless Mountain Arts Collective: the opportunity to meet and collaborate with other area artists." Check out Arts for All on Facebook.
